Community Gospel Care Ministry’s mission is “To love our neighbor as our self” as we demonstrate the compassion and care of Jesus by meeting the needs of our church family, friends and neighbors.  Our purpose is to provide opportunities for God’s people to participate in “works of service” that not only provide assistance to others, but also help us grow in our spiritual maturity and more clearly reflect the person of Jesus Christ to our community.   To prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of  God and become more mature attaining to the whole measure of fullness of Christ.

Specific responsibilities of the CGCM include:

• maintain an awareness of people’s needs within CGC and the surrounding area
• maintain an awareness of resources available within CGC and the surrounding area
• facilitate the matching of people’s needs with the appropriate resources
• seek ways to address root issues that may be underlying needs
• encourage and promote generous giving to the CGCM Fund
• oversee distributions from the CGCM Fund with care, compassion and discernment
• develop a CGCM Team of volunteers as needed to help with all CGCM activities
• communicate the blessings resulting from CGCM
• coordinate with CGC administration and other ministries
• interface with Help with Love organization as appropriate
